A group of forensic researchers has provided proof that those remains weren't Cora Crippen's.
In truth, they weren't also from a lady.
"Based upon the genealogical and mitochondrial DNA research, the cells on the pathology slide used to convict Dr. Crippen wasn't that of Cora Crippen," says David Foran, teacher of forensic biology at Michigan Specify College.
"Further DNA testing revealed that the cells was man in beginning."
For the study, released in the Journal of Forensic Sciences, Foran and associates contrasted the DNA from cells used in the century-old test that assisted convict Hawley Crippen to that of Cora Crippen's maternal family members.
If the remains were Cora Crippen's, they would certainly share specific DNA qualities with her present day family members, Foran says.
But there was no suit.
